Ayram; Born Peter Arame, did not only outdo himself in this amazing piece "X Ray", but also brought in Malawian budding songbird 'Gazelle' to deliver her outstanding vocals in the song to make what Malawi is currently calling "The Upcoming Gospel Song That Took Malawian Music By Storm".
The song itself is well produced by Red Disc Music and to add to that, it has the exquisite style, content and punchlines of Ayram fused with Gazelle's amazing vocals. Is this all? Ofcourse not! Here are the 10 Facts that people did not know about this song until today, after an interview with the man of the moment himself; Ayram.
1. Ayram wrote X Ray when he was just 19 years ago.
2. The instrumental was made by a then 19 years old Andrew Nthara, who just so happens to be the same guy behind the Pupa & Larvae Instrumental.
3. One of Ayram's rapper friends gave him a painfully tempting offer for the instrumental back in 2016. A then broke Ayram rejected the offer because he felt the instrumental had been moulded especially for X Ray.
4. The artwork for the song was made by 2 time award winning graphic designer; Simon Banda. Not so surprisingly, the artwork received positive remarks from its beholders.
5. 3 choruses were written and scrapped before the 'right' chorus was found and done by Gazelle who did the song justice with her dulcet voice.
6. A few days to the song's release, a giggling Ayram confessed "To ensure that there were no major flaws and to check if I personally loved the song I just recorded, I played the song over 20 times everyday before the release, but hey! Who is keeping count?"
7. The original plan was to feature David Kalilani on the song. He loved both the concept and instrumental but due to some unforeseen circumstances, the song was done before the collaboration could be made.
8. The song was supposed to be premiered on Joy Nathu's Made on Monday. However, the show's December slots had been filled to the brim which meant pushing the show to 2019 which were parallel to the artist's plan.
9. The song made it to Zonse Live's Top 10 Chart just four days after its release.
10. It is Ayram's 2nd single off his oncoming project.
